POSITION SUMMARY
The Application Analyst-Revenue Cycle is responsible for interfacing with the stakeholders of the revenue cycle to understand, define, and translate business requirements into functional applications through cooperation with the Electronic Medical Records (EMR) host. This position will provide analytical, functional support and facilitation in the maintenance of software applications, working collaboratively with end users, technical analysts, and vendors to resolve problems in software applications. Researches routine to moderately complex application problems, develops solutions, conducts test cases and solicits support from technical application staff or vendors in order to facilitate issue resolution. Performs pre-install testing of new releases of applications/interfaces; reviews data and file layout structure; facilitates updates to file maintenance tables and profiles; and provides training and guidance to user clients in utilization of new internal business processes, systems or applications. The Application Analyst serves as a resource on technical issues, data analysis, report generation, and is the most knowledgeable in the applications of their assigned area. This position will manage the transfer, reconciling, and troubleshooting with regards to the billing processes for claims, electronic remittance files, statements, outside vendor charges, and resolves assigned work queues in a timely manner.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:
- Epic Certification/Proficiency preferred in one of the following areas: Resolute Hospital Billing Administration, Resolute Professional Billing Administration, HIM Hospital Coding, Home Health Revenue Cycle, Grand Central.
Knowledge:
- Minimum of four years in either acute care, skilled nursing or professional billing experience required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Windows based applications with an intermediate ability in Word, Excel and Access preferred.
- Understanding of Medicare, Medi-Cal, and Third-Party Payer requirements required.
- Previous experience with an Epic build, testing, install, troubleshooting and support at a healthcare organization.
- Thorough understanding and experience in one or more software applications.
- Ability to apply regulatory requirements to software functionality.
