Job Description : POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Inventory Specialist / Buyer Technician as well as the Pharmacy Director and the Distribution Pharmacist, this position performs pharmaceutical tasks related to the purchasing and acquisition of pharmaceuticals. Assists in the overall operation of the pharmacy by providing accurate, efficient and timely medication supplies to patients and assists the clinical pharmacists in providing optimal pharmaceutical therapy in acute care for geriatric, adult and pediatric patients. This position researches medication shortages and replaces with alternatives as needed, returns expired medication(s) to vendors and communicates medication inventory problems / solutions to the Pharmacy Department as necessary.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education / Licensure / Certification :
- Current CA Pharmacy Technician License is required upon hire.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification required within one year of hire.
