What Will You Do in This Role?
As a Dietary Manager, you will be responsible for planning, directing, controlling, and supervising functions and personnel within the dietary department. You will also safely and efficiently provide nutritionally appropriate food to residents for the purpose of maintaining and enhancing their overall health. The Dietary Manager ensures the provision of quality food service and nutrition care in accordance with Federal, State and Local regulations.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to determine individual dietary needs and preferences.
- Develop, implement, and manage care plans tailored to meet the nutritional requirements of patients.
- Oversee the budgeting process for the dietary department, ensuring efficient use of resources while maintaining high-quality service.
- Lead and supervise dietary staff, providing training and support to enhance their skills and performance.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards related to food safety, sanitation, and dietary practices.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to integrate dietary considerations into overall patient care.
- Maintain accurate records of patient diets, food service operations, and departmental activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in a dietary management role within a healthcare setting.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial management within a healthcare context.
- Ability to develop comprehensive care plans based on patient assessments.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with patients and healthcare staff.
- Knowledge of current dietary trends, regulations, and best practices in nutrition management.
