SUMMARY
The Distribution Center Reserve Stock Lead is responsible for maintaining the integrity and efficient processing of the reserve stock inventory
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Runs daily workload plan and assigns tasks as needed
- Ensures reserve stock activity and tasks are performed accurately and timely within WHSmith DC productivity goals
- Coordinates reserve stock staff assignments to reflect proper priorities and maximizes results
- Communicates performance of backstock associates to Supervisor or Operations Manager and advises of any lapses in productivity
- Report any DC Associate personnel issues to Operations Manager or Supervisor promptly
- Ensures inbound reserve stock is processed timely and accurately
- Ensures reconciliation tasks and other inventory discrepancies are addressed in a timely manner and always with inventory integrity in mind
- Assists with bi-annual physical inventory as directed by the Supervisor.
- Helps to ensure company equipment is properly maintained and all DC associates operate equipment in a safe manner at all times in accordance with OSHA regulations as well as DC policies and procedures
- Ensures staff is adhering to WHSmith’s DC Safety program at all times, including practicing safe lifting practices
- Reports all accidents to DC management immediately and completes proper post-accident forms when necessary
- Supervises PTL area as needed and assigned and assists Expeditor with correcting miss-picked items
- Coordinates tote flow with DC Expeditor and Packing Lead.
- Ensures DC Associates have supplies needed and reports any shortages to Supervisor/Operations Manager timely
- Ensures priority orders are stocked as directed
- Ensures price changes on current reserve stock are completed timely
- Maintains DC retrieval productivity by communicating improper stock distribution multiples or packing to buying department
- Assists in ensuring DC cycle counts and bi-annual physical counts are accurate
- Completes WMS manual tasks as directed for buyers by Supervisor, Operations Manager, or DC Leadership.
- Assists in keeping DC clean/organized including stacking empty pallets, breaking down corrugate boxes and feeding compactor as needed
- Follows DC Policies and Procedures
- Assists other DC Supervisors, DC Ops Manager and DC Leadership as needed or assigned
- Assists in DC loss prevention by enforcing all applicable security procedures; ie monitoring of entrance, exit and keeping dock doors secured
- Assists with special projects as directed
- Maintains confidentiality of company sources and information
- To conduct him/herself in the spirit of the MRG mission, vision, core values and organizational health
