GiveMeSport - WWE Staff Writer

This position will operate on a remote, freelance basis. To be eligible for this opportunity, you must be located in the USA, or Canada, Eastern Time Zone.

GIVEMESPORT.COM is looking for freelance staff writer to cover WWE for the publication. The ideal candidate will have a passion for WWE, the availability to contribute on a regular basis, and the ability to create compelling articles that inform and engage our readers.

We cover news, features, and interviews across a broad range of sports, from football to MMA, catering its content to a global audience of more than 30 million fans each and every month.

Expectations

• Write consistently and meet assigned deadlines for WWE articles, including news, features, and analysis
• Sub-edit work and provide constructive feedback produced by the WWE freelance writing team
• Generate and pitch new ideas/topics for WWE content to keep our coverage fresh and engaging
• Communicate and coordinate with the editorial team, social media and image specialists for assignments, feedback, and multimedia integration
• Stay up to date on the latest WWE news, including storylines, matches, injuries, and roster changes
• Input work into our in-house CMS following our style and formatting guidelines
• Collaborate with image specialists to find and format images according to our guidelines
• Optimise content for best performance on Google and social media platforms, working closely with the social media team
  
  

What We're Looking For

• Must reside in the United States or Canada, specifically in the Eastern Time Zone
• In-depth knowledge and deep passion for WWE, including its history, current landscape, and fan culture
• Excellent writing and proofreading skills, with an ability to sub-edit content for clarity and accuracy
• Previous experience writing for a sports publication, ideally with a focus on WWE or entertainment
• Previous experience working with a CMS and applying SEO best practices
• Willingness to improve and implement feedback from editors and team members
