The Senior QC Analyst will also play a key role in the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) appraisal process, ensuring process improvements and operational discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Control Oversight: Monitor and evaluate QC tasks, develop and lead the execution of improvement plans, and ensure adherence to Amtrak’s QC processes.
- Continuous Improvement (CI): Implement CI, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies to improve productivity and eliminate waste. Drive process improvements through all levels of the organization.
- Test Plans & Deliverables: Create standard operating procedures, develop metrics and KPIs, and review test plans, test results, and project deliverables.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct technical investigations to identify root causes of issues and recommend improvements.
- Testing & Validation: Translate business and technical requirements into test cases and scripts, execute tests, document defects, and monitor testing results.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare test documentation, including Master Test Plans, test scenarios, defect reports, and test summary reports. Adhere to requirements traceability matrix.
- Collaboration & Communication: Work with cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are met, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- CMMI & Process Maturity: Participate in the Capability Model Maturity Integration (CMMI) appraisal process, helping the organization achieve and maintain CMMI standards.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field.
- Experience: 5 years of relevant experience in quality control, process improvement, and project management.
- Leadership: 2 years of experience leading teams in a matrixed organization.
- Testing Expertise: Experience in developing Master Test Plans, test cases, test scenarios, defect reports, and testing tools.
- Agile/Scrum Experience: Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams, leading testing efforts, and coordinating lab testing.
- Technical Tools: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, PowerBI, and issue tracking tools.
- Lean/CI Expertise: Formal training or certification in continuous improvement, Lean, or Six Sigma methodologies with a proven track record of driving process improvements.
- CMMI Experience: Experience in the Capability Model Maturity Integration (CMMI) appraisal process.
- Metrics & KPIs: Ability to develop operational metrics and KPIs to track performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Process Development: Ability to document workflows, develop SOPs, and prioritize testing based on risk and operational needs.
- Experience with structured test planning and test tracking software.
- Familiarity with process improvement models and industry best practices.
