Duties
The Director is responsible for efficiently administering program activities consistent with the mission of the Center and Marshall University to ensure that CBER’s research contributes to sustainable economic growth. Specific duties include, but are limited to, the following:
- Guiding Center staff with primary responsibility for the oversight of the Center’s financial, personnel, and administrative operations.
- Leading staff in obtaining external, competitively funded research and/or other external program support.
- Conducting applied research, outreach, and business development activities consistent with the mission of Marshall University and the Center.
- Establishing and maintaining relationships with West Virginia State legislative committees, executive agencies, business and professional groups and other University entities and offices.
- Ensuring that CBER staff members are supported in their efforts to provide excellent and responsive research results to the stakeholders throughout the region.
Location MURC - Marshall University Research Corporation Salary Range $100,000 - $130,000 Salary is commensurate with experience and internal equity.
Required Qualifications
Education
- The successful applicant should have a Ph.D. or other terminal degree in economics, finance, or in a related field.
Experience
- Ability to demonstrate a record of high-quality, sponsored research focusing on business, economics, economic development, or a related field.
- The successful candidate is expected to serve as a catalyst for research efforts at the Center.
- The entire portfolio of experience beyond academic qualifications will be considered in assessing their ability to advance the Center’s mission
