Overview:The faculty member will provide student instruction in areas of education and experience for thePhysician Assistant Program. Faculty members act as an advocate for the program and represent the program at state, national, and regional meetings. All clinical faculty members have the option to maintain clinical practice one day per week.Position summary:• Provide student instruction in areas of education and experience. This position requires the individual to possess the knowledge and clinical skills needed to conduct the curriculum of the PA Program. This includes but is not limited to the following:o Design curriculumo Evaluate student performanceo Coordinating curriculumo Course instructiono Evaluate curriculumo Identify students who are not achieving course and program objectiveso Assist in reviewing and developing the program mission statement annuallyo Assure the availability of remedial instructiono Maintain knowledge and skills associated with current practice standardsResponsibilities :Teaching1. Develop, analyze, assess, and evaluate didactic/ clinical course objectives, learning outcomes,content, syllabi, course, and sequence of material across the curriculum2. Create, edit, review, analyze assessment tools and student performance3. Provide feedback to students regarding assessment performance and devise remediation planswhen needed4. Submit grades timely and as required5. Mentor other faculty membersService1. Attend meeting as required2. Chair committees as assigned3. Assist with new student orientation4. Serve on PA search committee as assigned5. Attend state meetings yearly and PAEA or AAPA every year6. ARC -PA assignments to provide ongoing assessment of program7. Serve on campus wide committees as assigned8. Attend CME meetings as required9. Adhere to policies and procedures of the University, School of Medicine, and PA programProgram• Meet with prospective students• Promote and sustain a graduate level of academic culture• Participate in and contribute to program duties as assigned• Provide advising to physician assistant students• Attend all program events (white coat ceremony, graduation etc.)• Participate in interviewing applicants as assigned for admission to the Marshall University PAprogram• Participate in program committees as assigned.• Assist in developing, reviewing and revising as necessary the mission statement for the program• Post regular office hours devoted to the program• Participate through the Self-Assessment Committee in administering and evaluating theProgram• Other duties as assigned
