The research Data Analyst at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine is responsible for ingressing,analyzing, and transforming clinical data from internal and external sources. The position will interact andwork with healthcare systems such as Cerner and HealtheIntent. With support from the professional team, the Research Data Analyst will analyze clinical data sets in multiple formats andtransform/manipulate this data to provide insightful analysis or provide this data to others. The position will work across many different data formats, including Excel, CSV, and MS SQL, and experience in theseformats and capabilities like SSAS and SSIS will be valuable. The analyst will use Microsoft SQL andmedical knowledge to work on clinical research projects for the Department of Clinical and Translational Sciences, Division of Clinical Informatics, consistent with its grant funding from NIH, CTSA, COBRE, etc.We are looking for a passionate data professional who is self-directed, enjoys being busy with challengingwork, and has a positive attitude toward their work, colleagues, and the medical school.Essential Job Functions1. Experience managing clinical research projects using MS SQL,2. Strong ability to interpret laboratory findings, physical signs/symptoms, and other information on medical charts3. Understanding of Relational Databases and Data Warehouses4. Knowledge of medical coding (CPT9/10, ICD)5. Experience using SSAS, SSIS, REDCap, Tableau, or other visualization tools6. Ability to analyze user requirements requested by medical researchers.7. Knowledge of principles of clinical data collection and reporting; demonstrated ability to use systems and tools (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
