What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructor position at marshall?
The Department of Biological Sciences at Marshall University is seeking candidates for a one-year temporary (non-tenure track) instructor position, starting in Fall 2025. We are a diverse department incorporating interests from biomedical research to wildlife ecology, and we place strong emphasis on undergraduate education. As such, we seek a broadly trained biologist with interest and experience in developing engaging and cutting-edge experiences for undergraduate students. Primary teaching assignments will be in non majors biology, anatomy and physiology, introductory biology for majors, and possibly upper level courses as needed and within the successful candidate’s area of expertise.Duties include:Teaching lecture and/or lab courses as assigned by the Chair.Holding office hours and otherwise engaging with student to aid their success.Develop excellent lecture and lab classroom experiences while employing best pedagogical practices.Engaging in curriculum development for the assigned courses and our broader program.Coordinating between lectures and labs.Mentoring GTAs assigned to labs.
