JOB SUMMARY
The Biomedical Equipment Technician I highly technical position that serves our patients through creative, high quality, biomedical equipment support and technical assistance for clinical associates in a professional, timely and cost effective manner. This individual is required to have a high level of specialized technical ability in problem solving, use of test equipment and service documentation to maintain a wide variety of equipment types used for patient diagnostics and treatment, clinical laboratory, radiology, surgery and other medical and support departments.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Minimum Required : Associate of Applied Sciences Degree, or certificate of equivalent Military / Technical education, in Biomedical Engineering / Equipment Technology or Associates of Applied Sciences Degree, equivalent Military / Technical education, in Electronics Engineering / Equipment Technology.
Preferred / Optional : Associate of Applied Sciences Degree, or certificate of equivalent Military / Technical education, in Biomedical Engineering / Equipment Technology.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required : Biomedical Engineering / Equipment Technology internship or equivalent internship experience. Ability to work independently and as team member with other staff with minimal supervision and under high stress situations.
Preferred / Optional : None
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES
Minimum Required : Valid State of Wisconsin driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
Preferred / Optional : AAMI Credentials Institute (AMI), Certified Biomedical Electronics Technician (CBET), Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist (CRES), or Certified Laboratory Equipment Specialist (CLES) certification.
