The Radiologic Technologist performs a variety of technical radiography procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiographic diagnosis. The Technologist works under the direction of the radiologist to perform radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision. This individual assumes the responsibilities of designated areas and procedures, and takes corrective action for minor equipment and or computer malfunctions. Room setup, patient positioning, patient screening, knowledge of Computed Radiography (CR) and / or Digital Radiography (DR), quality control, and radiation safety are the direct responsibilities of the Technologist.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Minimum Required : Graduate of an accredited radiography program, ARRT (RT) registered.
Preferred / Optional : None
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required : None
Preferred / Optional : 2 years of experience.
CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES
Minimum Required : Valid Radiographer licensure in an applicable state, must have ARRT (RT) certification. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.
