Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
This positions a long term temporary for roughly two years.
The Emergency Management Specialist supports the Marshfield Clinic Health System Emergency Preparedness program by delivering a wide range of emergency preparedness training, exercises, and subject matter expertise. This individual is to ensure that the organization is prepared for, mitigates against, responds to, and recovers from natural, human-caused, and technological emergencies or disasters that may impact the health system.
The Emergency Management Specialist is responsible for implementing emergency preparedness program initiatives through development, design, coordination, and testing to ensure the preparedness of the health system personnel, facilities, and systems. This individual provides administrative and program support of regional emergency preparedness efforts. This role is also responsible for the regulatory compliance and continuous survey readiness at all hospitals, ambulatory sites, surgery centers and business entities related to the Environment of Care and Emergency Management.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Nursing, Engineering, Emergency Management, Business, or related field.
- NIMS IS training - 100, 200, 700, 800 within three months of hire.
Preferred/Optional:
- Master’s degree in related field
- Emergency Preparedness experience
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Two years’ experience working in a related field. Experience working with Joint Commission accreditation requirements.
Preferred/Optional: Direct healthcare Emergency Management experience including leadership and program management.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.
Minimum Required: Valid Wisconsin driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
