About Us: Marshmallow’s HOPE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to youth suicide prevention and mental health support. We provide pro bono counseling, an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), mentorship, and community education to help at-risk youth and families thrive.
Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and organized Outreach Coordinator to expand community engagement, increase awareness of our services, and build partnerships with schools, businesses, and local organizations. This role is ideal for a self-motivated individual who enjoys networking, organizing events, and representing a mission-driven organization. The position offers flexible scheduling, but availability on some evenings and weekends is required for outreach events and community engagements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage schools, community groups, and healthcare organizations
- Represent Marshmallow’s HOPE at community events, health fairs, and networking opportunities
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, schools, and mental health professionals
- Organize awareness campaigns, fundraising events, and educational workshops
- Manage and coordinate volunteers and community partnerships
- Create social media content and marketing materials to promote programs and events
- Assist in grant writing, sponsorship outreach, and donor engagement efforts
- Track and report outreach activities, engagement metrics, and partnership outcomes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Social Work, Public Relations, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field) OR equivalent work experience
- Experience in community outreach, nonprofit work, marketing, or event planning
- Strong public speaking, networking, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to a flexible schedule
- Passion for mental health advocacy and suicide prevention
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and Canva (or similar design tools)
- Reliable transportation and ability to travel within Winnebago, Boone, Stephenson, Ogle, DeKalb, JoDavies, Carroll, and Kane Counties (more counties will be added as we continue to grow).
- Must have good driving record and car insurance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
- Experience working with youth, schools, or mental health organizations
- Knowledge of fundraising and donor relations
Work Schedule & Compensation:
- Flexible schedule full-time
- Evening and weekend availability required for outreach events
