EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Affairs or Business Administration, and a minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in governmental affairs. Three years of supervisory experience required. Must possess excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills. Extensive experience in local, state and federal affairs arenas. Extensive experience in the development and execution of political strategies and grassroots coalition programs. Campaign management experience preferred. Experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis in lieu of a degree.

- Provides strategic direction and manages government relations initiatives at the federal, state and local level.
- Develops and implements action plans to meet strategic goals.
- Writes legislation, position papers and other documents needed to advance MARTA’s legislative agenda.
- Represents MARTA and serves as liaison with governments, business leaders, community groups and the community at large.
- Builds, manages and supports grassroots initiatives.
- Coordinates special projects and directs research as needed.
