Job Summary: Patrol premises and property to ensure safety and provide a secure environment for residents, guests, employees, volunteers, clients. The Security / Services Officer will enforce all rules and regulations set forth for the operation of the center. Security shifts are day, swing, and weekends and holidays may be required. In addition, you will be providing supportive services to homeless clients and monitoring and documenting client activities that require such documenting.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure integrity and security of all buildings.
- May provide information about other social service resources in the area.
- Advocating for adequate, timely, and cost-effective services and responding to any issues that occur during the delivery of services.
- Monitoring the services being provided and staying up to date on any services being introduced or discontinued.
- Monitor and Operate shower services program.
- Other duties as assigned as needed including housekeeping.
- Assist with any other operating duties such as, shower, laundry, distribution of snack, and set up & breakdown of cooling center. In addition to any other needed task to provide needed services.
- Maintain a database of clients and client services provided
- Conduct crowd control during special functions and as otherwise needed.
- Patrol all areas. Respond to alarms that occur at off-site locations.
- Ability to handle crisis situations.
- Provide timely assistance to assure the safety of staff, guests, volunteers, and clients.
- Clear the building(s) in case of fire, bomb threat, natural disaster, or other emergency alarm.
- Contact medical personnel as situation dictates.
- Will likely be called upon to assess suicidal/homicidal persons. May have to physically intervene to ensure safety of self and others. This may include other types of intervention involving acts of violence.
· Protect life and property; prevent and reduce crimes against employer's business, or other organizations and institutions to which assigned.
· Respect and protect the confidential and privileged information of employer or client beyond the term of employment, except where their interests are contrary to law.
· Cooperate with all recognized and responsible law enforcement and government agencies in matters within their jurisdiction - as long as it does not conflict with the confidentiality of the client.

- Ensure that guests, staff, volunteers and clients conform to all stated rules and regulations. Conduct searches of clients and their belongings per request of staff or personally observe suspicious activity May act as a safety investigator and will report safety hazards and/or violations to a supervisor as soon as practical; responsible for following safety practices while conducting security duties.
- Present oneself in a professional manner.
- Record all incidents occurring during the shift. Write incident reports in a timely fashion. Report any malfunction of security equipment to Supervisor and document the malfunction in the log.
- Perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by Program Manager, immediate supervisor and other management as required. Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent or technical or vocational training or three (3) years’ experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining various building systems, drywall installation, finishing, painting, and repairs. Minimum of one (1) year of field experience with trade school training OR five (2) years total field experience.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagrammatic, or schedule form.
