What are the responsibilities and job description for the DSP (Direct Support Professional) position at Martha's Way?
Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities
- Assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Drive individuals to appointments, activities, and community outings
- Engage individuals in social and recreational activities to enhance their quality of life
- Maintain a clean and safe living environment for individuals
- Collaborate with a team of professionals, including social workers and nurses, to ensure the well-being of individuals
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in direct support or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed to assist individuals with mobility
- First aid and CPR certification is a plus
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
