Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated Van Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting passengers and goods while providing excellent customer service. This role requires effective communication skills and a strong commitment to safety. The Van Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and efficient transportation services.
Duties
- Safely operate a van or similar vehicle to transport passengers to designated locations.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, ensuring their comfort and safety during transit.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the vehicle at all times.
- Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any questions or concerns from parents.
- Maintain an acceptable driving record, while maintaining Driver's license and/or CDL certification intact.
- Obey all federal, state, and local traffic laws, and ensure the safety of all passengers.
- Follow and politely, but firmly, enforce all disciplinary guidelines as set forth by management.
- Maintain discipline when students are aboard your vehicle and report undisciplined students to management.
Experience
- Previous experience in commercial driving, including roles such as delivery driver, bus driving, or paratransit services is preferred.
- Experience in customer service roles is highly valued.
- Familiarity with operating larger vehicles such as limousines or school buses is a plus.
- Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with passengers and team members.
- Ability to manage time effectively and navigate efficiently to ensure timely arrivals.
- Applicants must possess a valid Florida Driver's License in good standing. (CDL a plus)
- Applicants must possess an acceptable driving record.
- Have the ability to pass a thorough background screening. We are a drug-free employer.
- Drivers should have prior knowledge of local streets, highways, landmarks, and schools located within their assigned route.
- Maintain a professional image compatible with company guidelines.
- Have a willingness to work respectfully with people of diverse backgrounds.
- Possess the ability to solve problems involving students, school personnel, equipment failure, emergency situations, etc.
- Demonstrate integrity on a personal and professional level.
