JOB DESCRIPTION
Martin Brûlé Studio is looking for an experienced Interior Designer to support and work closely with the internal Design Team to efficiently execute projects within deadline constraints.
A growing interior design firm, Martin Brûlé Studio seeks a motivated designer with a minimum of 5 years of relevant design experience to join our practice. The ideal candidate should have experience in high-end renovations and architectural projects, working on all phases of development for FF&E and design documents. The ideal candidate has also worked for a top interior design firm.
The Designer would work directly with the firm"s principal designers to ensure the facilitation of a project's completion meeting timelines and budgets. Candidates must be extremely organized, detail-oriented, and creative. An ideal Designer should have a high level of knowledge in concept development, design and construction documents, and project management skills.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Source FF&E and produce detailed FF&E specifications with pricing, materials, finishes, and various types of schedules : plumbing fixture, finishes, lighting, door hardware, etc
- Working directly with the Director of Design, Senior Designers, and Junior Designers to see projects through from inception to completion
- Present project ideas, moodboards and project design plans to the Head of Design and President
- Assisting the Director of Design and collaborating with Senior Designers in project management of multiple projects simultaneously
- Attending design meetings and installations with the Head of Design
- Advise and manage clients on interior design factors such as space planning, layout and use of furnishings or equipment, and color coordination. Providing presentations and project updates.
- Review and direct Junior Designers in creating and updating client presentations
- Create and develop conceptual designs
- Research and source interior products and relevant interior finishes / materials for review
- Creating furniture plans, elevations, RCPs, millwork drawings, custom furniture drawings, etc
- Use computer-aided drafting (CAD) and related software to produce documents
- Manage own timelines and priorities as part of a cross-functional team and collaboratively meet tight deadlines
- Coordinate for finish plans, specifications and material selections
- Utilize presentation tools including Adobe Suite and basic office software like Microsoft Office, and Keynote
- Utilize project folders with all related drawings, specs, schedules, etc
- Utilize project management tools like Asana and excel
- Site visits to supervise / check-in as needed
- Entering FF&E into Studio Designer in order to generate client proposals, invoices, purchase orders, etc.
