Knowledge, Skills and Abilities for an Accounts Receivable Specialist
- Prepare, compile and sort documents for data entry
- Check source documents and completed work for accuracy
- Verify data and correct data where necessary
- Obtain further information for incomplete documents
- Tracking incoming payments
- Recording and reconciling all incoming financial transactions received
- Issuing invoices and receipts to clients for money received
- Resolving outstanding payments and sending collection statements
- Updating account information and records of clients
- Assisting with audits and checking for discrepancies in financial accounts
- Ensuring that financial records meet with company standards
- Update data and delete unnecessary files
- Combine and rearrange data from source documents where required
- Enter data from source documents into prescribed computer database, files and forms
- Scan documents into document management systems or databases
- Store completed documents in designated locations
- Respond to requests for information and access relevant files
- Print and organize information when required
- Comply with data integrity and security policies

- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- 1-2 years' experience in an office setting preferred, but not required
- Formal computer training is an advantage
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other relevant computer applications
- Accurate keyboard skills and proven ability to enter data at the required speed
- Knowledge of correct spelling, grammar and punctuation
- Knowledge of clerical and administrative procedures
- Attention to detail and accuracy including closely monitoring all aspects of the job and continually checking processes and tasks
- Effective communication skills including the ability to listen and follow instructions correctly and good written communication skills including the use of appropriate grammar and spelling
- Able to work under pressure and maintain performance and work standards under stress
- Efficient work management including planning, organizing and prioritizing
- Excellent typing and keyboard skills
