Position Summary
This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance, repair, and service of fleet trucks and heavy equipment.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Have knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instruction
- Watch gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
- Basic knowledge of computers.
Task and Work Activities:
- Ensure all repairs and preventative maintenance is completed according to the manufacture's specifications and guidelines.
- Provide safe and reliable vehicles upon completion of repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Repairs or replaces defective parts
- Perform servicing company vehicles and equipment according to company procedures as required
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
- Lubricates and cleans parts
- Identify and report vehicle and machine damage, safety concerns and malfunctions to supervisor
- Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system
- Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties
- Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area
- Establish and maintain excellent working relationships with drivers, operators, and technicians
- Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repair
- Inspects equipment conditions (wear, alignment, function, etc) and monitors oil flow and temperature observing gauges to measure performance
Education, Requirements and Experience:
- Ability to do basic math
- Must have a valid Class A driver's license
