District Graduation Coach
JOB DESCRIPTION
QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited educational institution
(2) Valid Florida certification, guidance counseling preferred
(3) Five (5) years successful high school teaching experience
(4) Knowledge and understanding of district and state graduation pathways
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to track the progress of students as they progress toward graduation. Ability to prepare
timely reports on progress to meeting graduation plans. Ability to communicate effectively within
the school for the support of students. Ability to work with faculty and administrators to meet the
needs of students in their pathway to graduation. Demonstrates interpersonal skills with teachers
and school leadership. Ability to analyze data to evaluate progress monitoring for graduation
cohorts. Knowledge of learning styles, instructional strategies and methods that will assist in the
progression to graduation. Ability to effectively assess levels of student achievement, analyze
test results and prescribe actions that facilitate timely graduation. Knowledge and understanding
of guidance and counseling principles, programs and services.

Deputy Superintendent or Director of Student Services
JOB GOAL
To assist administrators, teachers and staff in the process of improving student educational outcomes.
Identify secondary students’ data indicators and trends on potential areas of challenge with graduation
requirements. Implementing and tracking educational plans in detecting and resolving potential barriers to
graduation.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planning/Preparation
* (1) Develop graduation plans based on student need as well as, district and state
requirements.
* (2) Identify specific graduation status to specific cohort groups.
* (3) Identify, select and modify proven paths to high school graduation.
* (4) Participate in planning for graduation outcomes with school leadership.
* (5) Communicate effectively with stakeholders the baseline data and cohort performance for
graduation requirements.
* (6) Develop and assist with the implement of graduation plans.
* (7) Identify all assessments required for graduation as well as the concordant and alternative
assessments.
* (8) Track the progress of individual and subpopulations, of students and their progress
toward graduation.
* (9) Work with faculty and administrators to develop and adapt curriculum and instruction to
meet the needs of at risk students.

Administrative/Management
*(10) Enforce school rules, administrative regulations and Board policies.
*(11) Establish and maintain effective and efficient record keeping procedures.
*(12) Assist the school in the compilation of data to evaluate current progress toward
graduation.
*(13) Use appropriate technology to enhance record keeping and efficient retrieval of student
information.
*(14) Implement, coordinate, and monitor school-wide graduation activities.
Assessment/Evaluation
*(15) Analyze and interpret data for the purpose of monitoring progress toward graduation.
*(16) Communicate, in understandable terms, student progress toward graduation to
stakeholders.
Collaboration
*(17) Participate in meetings to discuss updates to graduation requirements among different
Cohort groups.
*(18) Collaborate with school staff and other professionals regarding trends in the technical
codes used to show changes in student enrollment status.
Staff Development
*(19) Engage in a continuing improvement of professional skills and knowledge.
*(20) Keep informed and disseminate information about current research, trends and best
practices.
*(21) Attend training sessions, conferences and workshops as assigned or appropriate to keep
abreast of current practices, programs and legal issues.
Professional Responsibilities
*(22) Act in a professional and ethical manner and adhere at all times to The Code of Ethics
and Principles of Professional Conduct of the Education Profession in Florida.
*(23) Demonstrate attention to punctuality and regular attendance.
*(24) Prepare all required reports in an accurate and timely manner and maintain all appropriate
records.
*(25) Maintain confidentiality of student and other professional information.
*(26) Comply with policies, procedures and programs.
*(27) Exercise appropriate professional judgment.
*(28) Support school improvement initiatives.
*(29) Ensure that student growth/performance is continuous and appropriate for age group
and/or student program classification.
*(30) Respond to inquiries and concerns in a timely manner.
*(31) Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events.
*(32) Utilize appropriate strategies and problem-solving tools to make decisions regarding
planning, utilization of funds, delivery of services and evaluation of services provided.
*(33) Use appropriate styles and methods to motivate, gain commitment and facilitate task
accomplishment.
(34) Perform other tasks or duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Light Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force as
frequently as needed to move objects.

Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the district’s approved compensation plan.
Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the district.

evaluation of personnel.
