TRANSPORTATION FIELD TRIP BOOKKEEPER/
SUPPORT SPECIALIST
JOB DESCRIPTION
QUALIFICATIONS:
(1) High School Diploma or equivalent
(2) Two years bookkeeping experience preferred
(3) Ability to operate a computer and utilize software as appropriate
(4) Ability to obtain within one (1) year a Florida CDL license with SP endorsements and a DOT
physical.
(5) Ability to communicate, read, write and speak in the English language
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Demonstrated knowledge of district geography and surrounding area; knowledge of basic
computer operations, prior experience with coordinating field trips preferred. Ability to
communicate in English orally and in writing.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Transportation
JOB GOAL
To provide the safest, highest level of service to schools and students desiring to take field
and activity trips. To prepare and maintain financial records for Transportation Dept. in
accordance with all applicable laws, policies, and procedures.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Service Delivery
*(1) Oversees field trip rosters of operator seniority for bidding and assigning field trips.
*(2) Coordinates the operations of field trip software.
*(3) Coordinate field trip requests from schools (and outside agencies during summer).
*(4) Process appropriate travel instructions to field trip drivers.
*(5) Provide clerical assistance as needed to Director of Transportation.
*(6) Assist in preparing purchase orders and processing invoices for payment.
*(7) Assist in verifying available funds for equipment, supplies, and materials.
*(8) Process invoices to schools and outside agencies as needed.
*(9) Compile necessary information and complete financial reports as directed.
*(10) Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities.

*(11) Meet and deal effectively with the general public, staff members, parents, administrators and
other contact persons using tact and good judgement.
*(12) Follow attendance, punctuality and other qualities of an appropriate work ethic.
