Martin County Transit, a division of Senior Resource Association, is looking for an Operations Supervisor to lead our frontline team during the assigned shifts and keep our fixed-route service running smoothly and safely.
About the Role:
The Operations Supervisor oversees daily transit operations during either the AM or PM shift, ensuring safe, timely, and efficient service delivery. This role is all about real-time problem solving, team support, and maintaining operational compliance. You’ll supervise drivers and dispatchers, respond to service disruptions, and keep everything moving according to plan—while keeping safety and customer satisfaction front and center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise drivers and dispatchers during your assigned shift.
- Monitor on-road service, resolve delays, and manage incidents in real time.
- Coordinate driver check-ins, vehicle assignments, and shift coverage.
- Communicate detours, route changes, and service updates clearly and promptly.
- Track performance data and support daily compliance documentation.
- Provide coaching and support to improve performance and team development.
- Recommend improvements to enhance service delivery and rider experience.
- Ensure smooth shift transitions by coordinating with other supervisors and leadership.
- Assist the Safety & Operations Manager with projects and additional tasks as needed.
What You Bring:
Experience:
- 5 years of professional driving experience with a clean driving record.
- At least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role in transit, logistics, or a related field (preferred).
Knowledge & Skills:
- Solid understanding of public transportation operations, safety protocols, and regulations (FTA, DOT, ADA).
- Confident team leader with the ability to coach staff and manage operational issues under pressure.
- Familiarity with Martin County roadways and traffic conditions.
- Strong communication skills and comfort using radios, tablets, and dispatch systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and data tracking tools.
Physical Requirements:
- Work takes place indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Must be able to sit for extended periods and assist passengers with mobility devices.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Uniform required; professional appearance expected.
Education & Certifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required; associate’s degree or higher preferred.
- Valid Florida CDL (Class B) with Passenger Endorsement.
- Current DOT Medical Certification.
- Must pass DOT physical, drug/alcohol screenings, and a Level II background check.
- Employment eligibility through the Florida Department of Elder Affairs (DOEA).
