The Role:
As a Paralegal at Martin, Disiere, Jefferson & Wisdom, you will play a vital role in supporting our attorneys through various phases of litigation and other legal processes. Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of legal work, including drafting and preparing legal documents such as pleadings, complaints, motions, subpoenas, and general correspondence.
- Schedule and coordinate depositions, mediations, and other important legal events.
- Handle heavy billing and time entry with precision.
- Communicate effectively on behalf of attorneys, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
- Transcribe, compose, and type routine correspondence.
- Confer with court personnel and prepare legal correspondence with minimal supervision.
- Perform various clerical and administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in paralegal tasks, including strong proficiency in legal documentation and billing/time entry.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage complex tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in legal case management and office software.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- A Paralegal Certificate is preferred but not required.
