Entry-Level Shop Fabricator

This role is ideal for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in fabrication and grow their skills in a supportive environment.

Everyday duties and responsibilities:

• Everyday handling of structural material (steel beams, channel, square tubing, etc.) Duties include moving and stacking material, cutting to specified lengths, erecting metal before welding in place, etc.
• Fabricator will be working in a structural steel welding facility. There is potential to learn MIG welding and plasma cutting procedures.
• Fabricator will be assisting with the building of large welding projects and will get exposure to reading and interpreting engineered drawings.
• Fabricator will assist with and learn to, sandblast & paint structural steel structures to a professional paint finish quality.
• Fabricator will assist and learn to be proficient with the installation of G-rib metal and standing seam metal and trim.
• Fabricator will learn to operate overhead cranes, scissor lifts, and forklifts.
• The ability to use everyday construction tools (tape measure, square, level, etc.) is desirable.
• Fabricator will work in conjunction with other crews and lead persons. Good communication, ability to fallow direction and attention is a must.
• Fabricator will need the ability to lift 60lbs regularly and up to 80lbs at times.
• Fabricator will need to have full range of motion of arms and legs for ability to work in confined quarters and to do overhead work.
• Fabricator will fulfill all other duties that are assigned to them.

• Ability to read labels, safety warnings, and guidelines.
• Must be able to obtain Welding Certification provided by Company after proper training.
• Ability to learn basic computer skills to communicate via email, document daily work and progress, and track procurements and status.
• Always attentive to detail and remain alert to ensure safety.
• Ability to receive and follow instructions and communicate with co-workers.
• Ability to start work on time reliably and to adhere to all timeframes for breaks.
• Ability to follow all given safety guidelines.
• The position will be based in Latham, Mo but personnel are required to work in Tipton, Mo when required.
