SUMMARY:
Be a part of our Martin Equipment work family! Martin Equipment is a John Deere Construction Dealership, family-owned for almost 100-years. The Yard Coordinator position requires an individual who can exercise independent judgement and is responsible for equipment cleanliness, yard maintenance, organization of equipment, and other general service department duties as directed by the Service Manager, as well as operate construction equipment. This person must approach each task safely, with a sense of urgency, and with a strong attention to detail. Looking for a person who can work independently and as a good teammate, someone who takes pride in their work, and is reliable and dependable. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Perform check-in inspections on equipment for condition and operation
- Clean machines before they enter the shop or leave the lot
- Check and fill machines with fuel
- Operate equipment by loading and unloading it safely
- Follow safety policies and procedures
- Complete required paperwork and reports
- Deliver parts to technicians and pick up parts from other locations and venders
- Maintain and care for department tools, equipment, and vehicles
- Daily clean shop floors, empty trash, organize yard equipment and attachments
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform all other tasks as directed by the Service and Sales Managers
- Assist with other duties assigned and directed by corporate management within the framework of Martin Equipment's objectives
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required
- At least one year of previous experience preferred
- Valid drivers license
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Able to follow instructions and pre-established guidelines
- Able to maintain a clean work area and perform work in a neat and orderly manner
- Able to operate a forklift safely
- Knowledge of machines and tools used for repair, maintenance and cleaning of facility
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Able to work in a team environment and work a flexible schedule
Physical Demands:
- Ability to frequently lift and push a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Walk, climb, stoop, reach, crawl, crouch, stand, and kneel as necessary
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
- All required PPE is provided by Martin Equipment and includes, but is not limited to, protective glasses, gloves, and boots.
Work Environment:
- Exposure to outdoor conditions including heat and cold
