What are the responsibilities and job description for the Legal Nurse Consultant position at Martin F White Co. LPA?
Work with experienced Plaintiff's attorney on his medical malpractice cases. Responsible for initial screening of potential cases in telephone interviews, organizing and analyzing medical records, preparing timelines, helping to search for appropriate expert witnesses and educating attorney on active and potential cases.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Conducting initial interviews of potential claims.
Conduct medical research when needed.
Identifying standard of care issues.
Educating attorney on health care issues relating to each case.
Identifying necessary medical records and organizing and analyzing those records. Preparing a timeline of care as documented in medical records.
Help prepare attorney for depositions and trial. Participate with attorney during medical malpractice trials.
Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned in conjunction with cases involving medical issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
RN degree with valid and unrestricted nursing license.
Minimum of three years field experience. Preference to candidates with legal nurse consulting experience, but not required.
Expertise in medical terminology and medical records review.
Able to effectively communicate with a broad array of individuals, ranging from medically unsophisticated clients to lawyers and physicians.
Maintains professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with sensitive issues.
Strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills. Acute attention to detail.
Dedicated and passionate regarding principles of justice and fairness. Willingness to spend time and energy for the benefit of deserving victims.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
