Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Manager to oversee and enhance our workplace safety programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, developing training programs, and fostering a culture of safety within the organization. This role is crucial for maintaining a safe working environment and minimizing risks associated with occupational health and safety.
Duties
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive safety policies and procedures in accordance with OSHA standards and EPA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Lead root cause analysis investigations for incidents and accidents to determine underlying issues and implement corrective actions.
- Oversee workers' compensation claims management, ensuring compliance with workers' compensation law.
- Design and deliver training programs focused on occupational health, safety practices, and emergency preparedness, including CPR training.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement in EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) practices.
- Monitor industry trends and changes in regulations to ensure the organization remains compliant with all relevant laws.
Requirements
- A degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred but not required
- Proven experience in a safety management role, with a strong understanding of OSHA regulations and workers' compensation law.
- Familiarity with EPA standards and environmental regulations is advantageous.
- Strong skills in training development to effectively educate employees on safety protocols.
- Ability to fabricate solutions for unique safety challenges as they arise.
- Excellent analytical skills for conducting root cause analysis of incidents.
- Certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar are preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey safety information across all levels of the organization.
