Summary:
The Warehouse Manager at Martin Inc. is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations to ensure the efficient and effective management of inventory, receiving, storage, order fulfillment, and shipping processes. This leadership role requires strong organizational and managerial skills to optimize warehouse productivity, maintain inventory accuracy, and uphold safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations Management:
- Oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, including receiving, inventory management, order picking, packing, and shipping.
- Develop and implement warehouse policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure streamlined operations and maximum efficiency.
- Monitor and analyze warehouse performance metrics, such as productivity, accuracy, and on-time delivery, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as procurement, sales, and customer service, to align warehouse operations with overall business goals.
Inventory Management:
- Manage inventory levels and accuracy, ensuring proper storage, organization, and labeling of products.
- Implement inventory control processes, such as cycle counting and regular audits, to maintain inventory integrity and minimize discrepancies.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to optimize inventory replenishment and maintain adequate stock levels.
- Utilize warehouse management systems or software to track and manage inventory movements and transactions.
Staff Supervision and Development:
- Lead and supervise warehouse staff, including training, scheduling, and performance management.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork, motivation, and professional development.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, objectives, and performance expectations.
- Identify training needs and provide ongoing coaching to enhance the skills and capabilities of warehouse personnel.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and practices to minimize workplace hazards and promote a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and train employees on safe material handling and equipment operation.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety training, incidents, and inspections.
Budget and Cost Control:
- Collaborate with the operations manager to develop and manage the warehouse budget.
- Monitor and control expenses, including labor, equipment, supplies, and maintenance, to meet budgetary targets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements to optimize warehouse operations and minimize waste.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in warehouse management or a similar leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics processes.
Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Solid understanding of warehouse management systems and inventory control software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify and address operational challenges.
