Job Title:
RN Clinical Staff Nurse - EmPATH - Full Time Nights
Job Summary:
The EmPATH Registered Nurse provides expert nursing care to patients in a mental health setting, ensuring individualized, family-centered treatment based on the Watson Model of Care.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage patients' psychiatric conditions, collaborating with physicians for effective treatment and discharge planning.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, maintain patient safety, and uphold the core values of Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital.
- Provides nursing care to mental health clients whose condition may be unstable and ever changing.
- Evaluate patients for suicidal or homicidal tendencies and inappropriate responses indicating psychosis, anxiety, and/or depression.
- Oversee direct patient care, perform patient assessments, Behavioral Health assessments, and ensure safety at all times.
- Document patient care, including assessment, implementation, evaluation, and follow unit specific and hospital documentation policies and procedures.
- Collaborate professionally with physicians for required orders and follow-up with revised care.
- Demonstrate ability to plan, supervise, instruct, and evaluate ancillary nursing personnel.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in nursing/equivalent or higher level of nursing degree.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as RN in acute adult outpatient or inpatient psychiatric unit.
- Background and knowledge of psychiatric and medical-surgical illnesses and treatment.
- Current California Nursing license.
- Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).
- Electronic Medical Record experience preferred.
