What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Martin Marietta?
Martin Marietta is currently looking for a Production Supervisor for its Underground Mine location based out of Lynnville, Iowa. The Production Supervisor will be responsible for assisting in managing all safety, operational, financial, environmental and personnel duties for the plant in accordance with company programs, policies, and guidelines as well as government agencies.
A typical day for a Production Supervisor may include:
- Training and development of the team, scheduling, performance management and effective leadership of the hourly workforce
- Successfully leading and managing to production, safety, quality, employee development and environmental objectives and metrics
- Performing all activities in accordance with the Company’s Mission, Vision and Values, and in compliance with the Company’s policies, procedures and Code of Ethical Business Conduct.
You may be a good fit if you have:
- A bachelor’s degree in Mine Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent work/military experience
- 2 years of experience in aggregate operations, preferred
- Minimum 1-year supervisory experience in a mining environment, preferred
- The ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
- Proficiency with a computer and Microsoft Office programs and other similar programs
