Position Summary
- Responsibilities include sampling and performing routine laboratory testing of aggregate material.
- Follow prescribed procedures to determine physical characteristics for quality control purposes and conformity to specifications.
- Perform equipment verification/calibration and regular maintenance of laboratory equipment such as sieves, scales, ovens, and thermometers as required.
- Record test results in StonemontQC and/or standardized forms.
- Record and Log daily plant related to quality control in StonemontQC.
- Maintain quality control records, such as test results, equipment records, and screen deck designs, and screen inventory.
- Report and communicate test results to governing agencies or customers as directed by the district quality control manager.
- Daily communication with plant management, operators, and loader operators regarding plant events and pile movements.
- Stockpile inspections for proper construction and handling.
- Inspect haul units, loader buckets, and rail cars for cleanliness.
- Assist with plant changes such as screen changes, chute configurations, and blending operations.
- Assist in plant investigations to resolve resolving customer or production technical problems.
Job Requirements
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience required; technical degree preferred
- Proactive in safety and works well in a team environment
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Basic math and computing skills, MS Windows and Microsoft Office skills preferred
- Ability to obtain TxDOT and ODOT field and laboratory testing state certifications.
- Two (2) years' experience in quality control industry, mining, or general construction is preferred
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner
- Ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, dust mask, and occasionally a safety harness.
- Ability to operate radio, CB radio, computer and other equipment as required
- Able to bend, stoop, and climb ladders or approve equipment.
- Lift up to 70 lbs.
Working Conditions
- Will work in varied environments (in all weather conditions heat, cold, wet, humid, dry and/or dusty conditions)
- Work around industrial equipment and machinery to obtain materials samples from production facilities such as conveyors, stockpiles, rail cars and/or customer sites.
- Work in areas where noise levels are up to 90 dbs.
Salary : $14 - $18
