Description

Martin / Martin, Inc. is looking for an experienced structural engineer to join our Albuquerque, New Mexico office. This engineer will have the opportunity to design and manage structural engineering projects in New Mexico and throughout the U.S. in markets such as DOE / DOD labs and campuses, advanced manufacturing, healthcare, sports, office, and education.

Lastly, our investigative engineers are pivotal in supporting ongoing projects by planning and implementing repairs, renovations, and improvements for buildings and sites. With nine office locations and a staff of 370, Martin / Martin engineers regularly perform work across the United States and internationally

This candidate will possess strong written, technical, and interpersonal skills as well as having excellent time management and organization skills. Additionally, this role is in a new and growing office, so the position will include a broad mix of opportunities for client interaction and career growth.

Examples Of Responsibilities :

  • Engage with clients and contractors as primary point of contact throughout the project life cycle.
  • Manage and collaborate with engineering and technician staff to produce high-quality project documentation using computer design and graphics software programs.
  • Act as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff regarding career development, design techniques, software, and code questions.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets.
  • Build lasting relationships with clients through project work and business development activities.

Requirements

Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum
  • Demonstrates ability to be in responsible charge of projects
  • Completed a minimum of 12 months as a Professional Engineer and 6 years of progressive engineering experience (MSCE / MSAE counts as 1 year. Passing the 16-hour SE exam also counts as 1 year)
  • Desired Qualifications :

  • Successfully managed multiple projects and followed them from start of design to completion of construction
  • Experience working on Department of Energy and Department of Defense projects
  • Effective at communicating and working with clients, jurisdictions, and colleagues
  • Shows strong commitment to continued professional development
  • Participating member of at least one professional and / or technical society
  • Demonstrates skill and a positive attitude in completing difficult assignments
  • Demonstrates willingness to take on additional work and responsibility
  • 2 years' experience as a Professional Engineer. Passed the 16-hour structural engineering exam
