Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for a mid-level structural engineer to join our Albuquerque, New Mexico office. This engineer will have the opportunity to design and manage structural engineering projects in New Mexico and throughout the U.S. in markets such as DOE/DOD labs and campuses, education, healthcare, sports, and advanced manufacturing.
A typical work week can include drawing development, project coordination, engineering calculations, construction administration tasks, and site visits. This position allows for interactions with owners, architects, and contractors as you build relationships throughout the project life cycle. While many of our projects are located in the Rocky Mountain region, Martin/Martin’s national footprint provides opportunities to work on projects around the country.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

- Engage with clients and contractors as primary point of contact throughout the project life cycle.
- Manage and collaborate with engineering and technician staff to produce high-quality project documentation using computer design and graphics software programs.
- Act as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff regarding career development, design techniques, software, and code questions.
- Develop, monitor, and manage project work plans, schedules, and design budgets.
- Build lasting relationships with clients through project work and business development activities.
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Professional Engineer
- BS plus a minimum of 4 years of progressive engineering experience (MSCE/MSAE counts as 1 year)
- Demonstrates ability to be in responsible charge of projects
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Instills confidence in supervisors and clients through effective communication and technical skills
- Ability to design, detail, coordinate, and model small to medium size projects within time and budget constraints
- Time management skills needed to plan and execute projects
- Strong commitment to continued professional development
- Participating member of professional and/or technical societies
- Has a PE license in the state of his/her home office
- 6 years of progressive structural engineering experience
- Passed the 16-hour structural engineering exam
- Successfully managed multiple projects and followed them from start of design to completion of construction
- Effective at communicating and working with clients, jurisdictions, and colleagues
