Martin/Martin, Inc. is looking for exceptional engineering students to join our Structural Engineering Group as summer interns in our Larkspur, California office. This position will likely focus on the new building structural design market but may also include opportunities to gain experience in technical research, existing building analysis/renovation, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).

With nine office locations and a staff of 370, Martin/Martin engineers regularly perform work across the United States and internationally.
A typical work week for an intern can include engineering calculations, drawing development, site visits, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and support of internal technical projects. Our projects are typically located in California but also extend around the nation as we support our broad client base.

EXAMPLES OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Completes simple engineering calculations and models
- Prepares presentations
- Performs research and special studies
- Data entry
- Other duties as assigned
WORKING CONDITIONS/SKILLS/ABILITIES
This position is technical in nature, working mostly inside of the office completing a wide range of activities. The following abilities are required:
- Completing repetitive movement on tasks such as using a mouse or keyboard
- Remain stationary for long periods of time
- Read, communicate, and document in English
- Identify color
- Determine and exchange accurate information
- Occasionally move about outside of the office
- Occasionally move or hold objects weighing up to 25 pounds
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Eager to learn
- High school diploma
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degrees in civil or architectural engineering, having completed at least a junior-level program
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and ask questions as needed
- Ability to work in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Structural engineering-specific experience
- Structural engineering coursework
- Completed bachelor’s degree
