What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food and Beverage Restaurant Supervisor position at Martin Resorts - Paso Robles Inn?
As the Food and Beverage Supervisor, you will assist the Restaurant and Bar Manager in the planning, organizing, training, and leadership necessary to ensure an exceptional dining experience for every guest, promoting satisfaction and a marvelous time during each visit, in addition to achieving sales, costs, employee retention, food quality, cleanliness, and sanitation objectives. You are a friendly and responsive individual who provides constant, courteous service to all guests. You use active, effective communication when interacting with guests and coworkers, with an understanding of the predominant language (s) of the restaurant’s trading area.
Responsibilities of the Ideal Candidate:
- Thoroughly understand all restaurant/personnel policies, procedures, specifications, guidelines and training programs, informing the General Manager of any and all violations of company policies, rules, and procedures.
- Provide responsive, friendly, and courteous service at all times to ensure that all guests feel welcome and personally taken care of, filling in where needed to achieve guest service standards and efficient operations.
- Achieve company objectives in sales, service, quality, appearance of facility and sanitation and cleanliness through training of employees and creating a positive, productive working environment.
- Control cash and other receipts by adhering to cash handling and reconciliation procedures in accordance with restaurant policies and procedures.
- Prepare schedules in a timely manner and assist Restaurant Manager with call outs, shift coverage and covering shifts as needs arise.
- Personally inspect restaurant, each table, and all equipment to ensure that all are kept meticulously clean, in excellent working condition, and are set appropriately for each shift.
- Expedite as needed, checking portions and appearance of all plates.
- Assist with monthly inventories and ordering as needed.
- Assist the Restaurant Manager with seasonal programming.
- Fully understand and comply with all federal, state, county and municipal regulations that pertain to health, safety and labor requirements of the restaurant, employees and guests.
Position Starts at: $21 -25 an Hour DOE with benefits

Experience and Education:
- At least 21 years of age.
- At least three years of hands-on experience with front-of-the-house operations and/or assistant management positions.
- Knowledgeable of food and beverage service with a Food Safety Certification as well as AB1221 Safe Serve Certification.
- Has the ability to operate a POS system.
Physical Requirements:
The minimum physical requirements for this position include but are not limited to:
- Must be able to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds frequently to assist guests
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to hear, understand and communicate orally and in writing to communicate with staff, vendors and guests a normal in-person and phone conversation
- Ability to bend and twist, push and pull, stoop, and kneel
- Ascend and descend a ladder
