This individual must be capable of working independently to support the cleanliness and maintenance of 2 facilities in Metro Detroit. The primary work location is in Novi, MI; with a secondary, occasional work location in New Hudson, MI.

We are seeking a hardworking and dependable individual to join our team as a Custodian to ensure a safe and hygienic work environment for our employees and customers. This individual must be capable of working independently to support the cleanliness and maintenance of 2 facilities in Metro Detroit. The primary work location is in Novi, MI; with a secondary, occasional work location in New Hudson, MI.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean assigned areas with the use of standard custodian materials and equipment
- Clean floors – sweep, vacuum, dust mop, damp mop, walk-behind industrial floor scrubber
- Clean rugs and mats
- Wipe and sanitize counters, tables, and other surfaces
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, offices, break rooms, and processing areas
- Keep the manufacturing and shop floors clean from spills, dust, and debris
- Minor maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, and minor building repairs
- Wash walls, windows, furniture, and other items to maintain and clean, safe environment
- Collect and dispose of trash following approved procedures
- Assist with organization of materials
- Follow safety protocols and use PPE to prevent accidents and injuries
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or cleanliness concerns to the appropriate personnel for resolution
- Inventory, monitoring of, and ordering of cleaning supplies and restroom amenities to keep the facility stocked
- Timely complete all tasks assigned by Supervisor
- Exhibit professionalism with customers, clients, and coworkers
- Maintain customer and program confidentiality
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience in custodial or janitorial duties, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals used in commercial cleaning operations
- Ability to follow instructions, work independently, and prioritize tasks
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the facilities
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift objects, bend, stoop, walk, and stand for extended periods of time
- Work environment: Manufacturing/shop environments
- Physical demands: This job requires continuous physical exertion. Primarily walking or standing for an entire shift
- Hours: Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (We have some flexibility in the start and end times of the shift)
- Employee will work primarily out of our Novi, MI facility, with one day per week spent in our New Hudson facility
