Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Server to join our team in a fast-paced dining environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for providing excellent customer service and a strong understanding of food and beverage offerings. As a Server, you will be responsible for ensuring that our guests have an exceptional dining experience while adhering to all health and safety regulations. Responsibilities include communication between the guests and the kitchen and the bar, as well as with the rest of the FOH team. Servers are expected to deliver thoughtful, confident and genuine service to their guests. Servers use their empathy to read their guests in order to enhance and take ownership of each guest’s dining experience. Finally, servers must have the ability to delegate and prioritize quickly and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Greet and seat guests in a friendly and timely manner.
- Present menus, take orders, and provide recommendations based on guest preferences.
- Accurately process orders using the POS system.
- Serve food and beverages promptly while ensuring proper presentation.
- Monitor tables to ensure guest satisfaction and address any needs or concerns.
- Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, including bussing tables and sanitizing surfaces.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely food preparation and delivery.
- Adhere to all food handling and safety guidelines to maintain a safe dining environment.
Skills
- Ability to think and communicate clearly in high pressure situations
- Complete knowledge of the restaurant menu, ingredients and cooking techniques
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Ability to work as a team and help other service staff
- Ability to execute a professional wine service, as defined in the guide to service
- Comprehensive knowledge of wine list
- Comprehensive knowledge of the ingredients and techniques used in all house cocktails
- An understanding of standardized recipes for classic and contemporary cocktails
- Ability to confidently make food and beverage pairing recommendations
- Spatial awareness
