The Cellar Position
This position reports to the Assistant Winemaker and is responsible for helping execute daily basic and/or advanced cellar operations.
This person works efficiently to meet wine quality expectations in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in harvest and crush tasks including pump-overs, punchdowns, juice/wine additions, moving hoses and equipment, barrel filling, collecting lab samples, cleaning/sanitizing equipment, and grape processing including sorting.
- Follow company sanitation standards in all areas of cellar operations.
- Work with safety in mind at all times.
Requirements:
- Harvest and wine industry experience preferred but not required.
- Forklift skills/certification a plus but not necessary.
- Able to work independently, follow and interpret instructions.
- Have great attention to detail.
- Works well as a team member.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, stand on hard surfaces for long periods of time and work in various temperatures and climates.
- Shift work and weekends required.
- Reliable transportation.
