Job Summary
Provides technical and administrative leadership for a medium to large team of engineering personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of 7 employees;
- Plan and track engineering activities, including risk assessment, budgetary performance, and program timing;
- Identify opportunities for improvement in engineering practices to increase operational efficiency;
- Review and approve engineering records;
- Select new personnel;
- Conduct performance reviews, including individual employee development goals and disciplinary actions;
- Participate in the development and ensure adherence to QMS Policy;
- Provide technical and administrative coaching and mentoring for engineering personnel;
- Work extra hours and travel to meet customer needs;
- Process Owner for Engineering Product Design and Development;
- Ensure department managers and their direct reports comply with system requirements for OSHA, IATF16949, and ISO14001 compliance.
- Knowledge of customer-specific requirements.
- Able to abide by all company policies, including Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook.
Requirements
- Good verbal and written communication skills;
- Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills;
- Good management and leadership skills;
- Good computer proficiency;
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office;
- May be required to have proficiency in languages other than English;
- BS or MS (preferred) in engineering or equivalent;
- 10 years of related experience or equivalent.
