Job Summary :

  • Ensure that a business unit - a particular segment of the company - is meeting goals that contribute to the overall success of the company.

Required Education and Experience :

  • Preferred Diploma or Degree in Engineering, Finance / Accounting, Business Management or similar field
  • 5-7 years related experience in a manufacturing environment; preferably automotive
  • Knowledge of Quality standards - IATF 16949
  • Leadership experience an asset
  • Proven ability to motivate teams to achieve high standards and accomplish set outcomes
  • Critical Success Factors :

  • Excellent attendance.
  • Excellent Communication Skills (oral and written)
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Familiar with the Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations
  • Ability to interact with the Management Team in a professional manner to continually enhance the company's performance
  • Ability to work independently without supervision and with minimum direction
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be both a team player and team leader
  • Essential Functions :

  • Abide by all Company policies including, but not limited to the following : Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook.
  • Incorporate policies and procedures of the company in business unit operations
  • Monitor and review company's project activities and goals and ensure that they are brought to completion within scheduled period of time and budget
  • Provide effective management to organization's business activities that have to do with its strategic and financial growth
  • Create new strategies for marketing and monitoring QC and QA measures
  • Perform efficient finance management
  • Perform review of equipment and system layouts and its validation
  • Ensure harmonious environment for working
  • Responsible for training and mentoring staff; motivating them all for effective performance for the general growth of the company
  • Set up the business unit's strategies for promotional activities
  • Coordinate with other teams like the engineering team in order to develop plans for launching of new products, and then its implementation
  • Develop and communicate the expectation levels and vision of the company to members of unit, reflective of the company's corporate vision and goals
  • Coordinate with other heads of departments, integrating objectives and ideas for organizational growth
  • Perform day-to-day administrative tasks, such as processing information files and other paperwork
  • Respecting and understanding of the Customer / supplier relationship
  • Adopt a common sense approach to identifying and addressing problems and control weaknesses
  • Working Conditions

  • Office Environment and Plant Floor (PPE required)
  • Effort / Physical Demands

  • Constant communication with employees, peers, and management
  • Overtime as required
  • Health and Safety Responsibilities

  • Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company Rules, Plant Rules, policies and procedures
  • Must use or wear equipment, protective devices or certain clothing as required by the company
