What are the responsibilities and job description for the HOP - Tugger position at Martinrea International Inc.?
Job Summary: Supply assembly line with necessary material to meet production output at the appropriate time intervals. Fill Dollies with product, install dollies in main cart for transportation. Deliver to line side, and deliver carts to individual operations, and return empties to main cart for transport back to warehouse. In addition to these duties the Tugger Kitter and Decanter will ensure production flow from material handling / kitting of new jobs to returning excess product from manufacturing back into the warehouse.
Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work well with others and be a team player
- Tugger, Fork truck, Electric Rider Pallet Jack, or Narrow Aisle Reach Truck required
- Basic Computer literacy required Must have excellent attendance record.
- Must be willing to work daily and weekend overtime for extended periods of time
- Must have an excellent safety record
Critical Success Factors:
- Excellent attendance
- Ability to read and follow work instructions, which are written at approximately the 10th grade level.
- Delivery of product to the assembly line at the appropriate time is, as there will be limited material at the Line.
- The employee is occasionally required to walk; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch talk, see and hear.
- The employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
- Ensure that all duties and tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner and at no time is the employee or their co-workers placed in an unsafe condition
Essential Functions:
- Pull raw material and boxes from inventory for production line operators *
- Verify box labels and skid tags
- Loading, unloading, preparing, inspecting and operating the delivery vehicle
- Move controls, devices, and levers to drive tugger and train to transfer material between unloading, processing, loading and storage area.
- Follow delivery routes and time schedules
- Understand the parts needed for every line being served.
- Perform routine post and pre inspections to ensure suitable working nature of Tugger and High frequency delivery carts.
- Complete tugger operator training
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager or group leader.
- Competency Level to understand of all basic processes and interactions as determined by the leadership team
- Abide by all Company polices including, but not limited to the following: Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Systems, Human Resources policies, and the Martinrea Employee Handbook
Work Environment:
- 80% Office environment, 20% Plant floor (PPE required)
- Constant communication with employees, peers, and management
- Overtime as required
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work on computer for long periods of time
- Ability to be present on the production floor on a daily basis
Health and Safety:
- Must work in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, Company and plant rules, policies and procedures
- Must use or wear Personal Protective Equipment and certain clothing as required by the Company
