What are the responsibilities and job description for the Seasonal Barn Attendant position at Martinsburg-Berkeley County Parks & Recreation?
SUMMARY:
This is a part-time seasonal position that is responsible for being on-site at the Barn at Poor House Farm Park, available during set hours at supervise the facility and assist renters, if needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have flexibility to work evening and weekend schedules. Some weekday or weeknight shifts are possible. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Requirements -
- 18 years of age or older
- Hold a valid driver's license
- Reliable childcare and transportation
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights/weekends
- Pass a background check

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES include the following:
- Being on time, dependable and manage tasks assigned
- Maintain continuous surveillance of facility; act immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of patrons in the event of an emergency
- Spot hazards or potential hazards and take measures to prevent accidents
- Control and report unruly behavior; contact appropriate authorities if the need arises
- Provide assistant to rental customers with basic needs within the venue
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently
- Perform other related duties as required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- First Aid/CPR/AED Certification a plus
WORK CONDITIONS:
- Exterior and interior; variety of weather conditions to include humidity, rain, snow and heat.
WORK SCHEDULE subject to change:
- Flexible schedule, primarily weekends and evenings
- Typically, no more than 20 hours per week
- Hours mainly in Spring and Fall seasons
Salary : $17 - $20
