Job Summary
We are seeking a Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and operating the cash register efficiently.
We are also seeking someone with cashier experinece to take on a leadership role as a shift leader. Shift leaders are paid a base pay of $17 an hour tips. Shift leaders are responsible for opening or closing the team, completing daily questionnaires regarding service, and filling out inventory sheets. Shift leaders who excel over time are offered chances to climb-the-ladder towards higher positions.
Duties
- Greet customers and assist them with their purchases
- Operate the cash register accurately and efficiently
- Process payments using cash, credit cards, or digital wallets
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area
- Stock shelves and assist with inventory management
- Upsell products to customers to increase sales
- Provide information about products and promotions
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills to interact with customers effectively
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and providing change
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude
- Previous experience in retail, cashiering, or customer service is a plus
- Bilingual proficiency is an advantage for serving diverse customers
- Knowledge of retail math principles for accurate transactions
- Supervising experience is beneficial for potential growth opportunities
