Since 1969, we’ve been serving Cheyenne and surrounding areas with exceptional workmanship and customer service. As we continue to grow, we are seeking a skilled Excavation Operator to join our team, supporting sewer service projects that involve the installation, maintenance, and repair of buried sewer, water, and gas utility lines.
Ideal candidates will hold a valid excavation equipment operator’s license, with OSHA 30 certification preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate a variety of heavy excavation equipment including backhoes, bulldozers, excavators, and other machines as needed.
- Perform digging, trenching, and grading tasks in preparation for construction and site development.
- Ensure precise and accurate excavation according to project plans and specifications.
- Conduct daily pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure it is functioning properly.
- Maintain a high standard of safety by following all safety procedures and wearing proper protective equipment.
- Work with project supervisors and site managers to ensure excavation work is completed efficiently and to specifications.
- Communicate effectively with other crew members and contractors on site to coordinate work and ensure smooth operations.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and report major repairs to maintenance personnel.
- Assist in the loading and unloading of materials, as required.
- Maintain and organize the work area to ensure a safe and clean environment.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines at all times.
- Proven experience as an Excavation Operator or similar role in construction or related field.
- Valid operator’s license for excavation equipment (e.g., Excavator, Backhoe, Dozer).
- Certification in heavy equipment operation; OSHA 30 cert preferred
- In-depth knowledge of excavation techniques and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and other technical documents.
- Strong understanding of construction methods and materials.
- Ability to operate equipment safely and effectively, even in challenging conditions.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks as required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions.
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification or training in excavation operations is a plus.
- Previous experience working on large construction projects.
- Familiarity with GPS and laser-guided excavation systems.
