Maintenance Technician II
Job Summary:

Responsibilities:
Install, alter, relocate and repair all types of plant equipment and facilities. May work a major portion of the time in a particular specialty, such as electrician, pipe fitter, or machine repair. Analyze malfunctions of electronic, electric-hydraulic, and machine tool equipment. Will be required to perform other types of maintenance work in addition to their specialty. This position requires nights, weekend and on-call duties as required.
Key Competencies:
1. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.
2. Experience troubleshooting and repairing electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic sheet metal fabrication equipment is preferred.
3. Electrical skills with ability to interpret schematics, diagnose AC & DC motors, troubleshoot transformers, relays, motor starters, contactors, and proximity & limit switches.
4. Mechanical aptitude to include assembly print interpretation, analysis & handling of bearings, tolerances or precision parts, shaft alignments and general mechanical problem solving.
5. Knowledge of hydraulic systems and components required. Must be able to identify components from a schematic, diagnose and repair directional valves, flow controls, regulators, pumps, cylinders, etc.
6. Knowledge of pneumatic systems and components required. Must be able to identify components from a schematic, diagnose and repair valves, flow controls, regulators, etc.
- Troubleshoots drive related issues to component level for Fanuc, Siemens, Allen Bradley and other brands of controllers.
- Determines root cause of failures and recommends preventive actions. Communicates the same through work order system comments/history.
- Communicate consistently with internal customers regarding the status of equipment in the shop.
- Advises supervisor of needs for outside services and works with service representatives on equipment and controls repair and installation. Shows competency in several crafts and performs handyman aspects in all trades.
- Makes day-to-day work-related decisions.
- Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications; establishing personal networks.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Uses various material handling equipment such as hoists, carts, lifts, fork trucks and hand trucks in moving light to heavy weight material.
- Ability to follow oral and written communication
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma required or GED equivalent required.
· Degree in Industrial Maintenance\Mechanical Systems Technology, Electronics, or Electrical Systems or current enrollment required. Other degree fields may be considered with consummate experience.
· A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance is required
· Basic computer skills
· Strong mechanical skills.
· Strong electrical skills.
· Comprehension of schematics/blueprints.
· Knowledge of Hydraulic/pneumatic systems required.
· Self-starter and motivated to maintain building/machines to 100% uptime via strong preventative activities.
