What are the responsibilities and job description for the VMS Billing and Collection Specialist position at Marvel Medical Staffing?
Position Overview: The VMS Billing/Collection Specialist plays a key role in supporting our internal and external customers when it comes to the weekly processing of customer invoicing process and working with them on payment resolution. Reporting to the Finance Operations Manager, the VMS Billing/Collection Specialist handles essential tasks, including reviewing facility invoices, filling disputes, customer support, and collection efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit invoices for accuracy based off of Client approved report or portal that fall in line with the Client’s contract
- File and manage disputes with Clients for needed adjustments per contract terms and deadlines
- Responsible for acting as a billing liaison between clients and resolving queries via phone or email
- Responsible for a book of business by sending monthly aging and obtaining payment information
- Track and maintain communication with Client around outstanding disputes and unpaid invoices
- Act as a backup for team members when they are on PTO
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with internal and external customers
- Handle questions with reasonable time frames and follow up until resolved
- Other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- 2 years of experience with multi-state payroll, billing experience is a plus
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- The role requires strong organizational skills and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
- Experience in healthcare staffing industry is a plus
