Labor and Delivery RN Director - San Antonio, TX
Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000 (based on years of experience)
Sign-On Bonus: Up to $10,000

We are currently seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery RN Director for a prestigious hospital located in San Antonio, TX. This hospital boasts over 900 beds and offers a wide range of specialties including cardiology, oncology, emergency medicine, neurosciences, gynecology, and maternity care.
As the Labor and Delivery RN Director, you will play a critical role in overseeing the delivery of patient care in the Labor & Delivery department. This leadership position is responsible for guiding a dedicated team to provide excellent care for a defined group of patients, ensuring efficient operations and a high level of service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership & Accountability: You will have 24/7 responsibility for overseeing the operations of the Labor & Delivery unit, including managing a team of 143 staff members and overseeing 40-50 beds.
- Team Collaboration: Act as a liaison between physicians, patient care teams, and administrators. Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care outcomes.
- Process Improvement: Assess, prioritize, and implement effective changes within the unit. Evaluate outcomes to ensure continuous improvement and exceed patient expectations.
- Resource Management: Ensure that the Labor & Delivery unit has the necessary resources (human and material) to provide top-tier care.
- Employee Development & Engagement: Mentor and coach nursing staff to foster a strong, engaged team. Uphold a culture of professional growth, ensuring that staff have the support to advance in their careers while maintaining a high level of patient satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Experience: A minimum of three years of recent RN acute care experience, with at least five years of Labor & Delivery experience in an acute care setting.
- Leadership: A minimum of two years of management experience in Labor & Delivery within an acute care environment.
- Required Experience: Labor & Delivery experience is mandatory; experience in other units will not be considered.
- Cultural Fit: Familiarity with the Studer culture of leadership, employee engagement, and patient satisfaction is preferred. Must be able to build strong relationships with the team while holding staff accountable to high standards.
