Position Overview: Orthopedic Surgery APRN/RNFA or Experienced Orthopedic Surgery CFA
We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Surgery APRN/RNFA or CFA to join our dynamic team. This role will involve performing a variety of procedures, including but not limited to digital blocks, regional anesthesia, and minor outpatient surgeries such as tendon repair, wound closure, wound management, wound debridement, incision and drainage, needle biopsy, percutaneous pinning of fractures, K-wire removal, and hardware removal.
You will also be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as joint and bursa aspirations, closed reduction of fractures and dislocations, and injections of joints, tendons, trigger points, and bursae. Additional duties include applying braces, casts, and splints.
In surgical settings, you will assist with tasks such as first assist, deep and superficial tissue closures, application of surgical appliances, and other actions delegated by the surgeon.
If APRN/RNFA:
You will conduct hospital rounds, write orders, and be on call for the orthopedic surgeon. You will evaluate and clarify clinical conditions, develop and implement treatment plans for hospitalized patients, and manage discharge summaries, histories, and physical exams.
Common Surgical Treatments Include:
- Fracture repair
- Joint replacement
- Ligament repair (ACL, MCL, PCL, LCL)
- Radial head replacement
- Rotator cuff repair
- Carpal tunnel surgery
- Tendon repair
Joint Treatments Include:
- Hyaluronan injections for arthritic joints
- Steroid injections for short-term pain relief
Experience/Certification Requirements:
- 2 years of orthopedic surgery experience required
- 1st assist certification required
Hours/Schedule:
- 2 days in the OR and 2 days in the clinic per week
- Shared call schedule with additional pay for on-call hours
Job Setting:
Join a collaborative team consisting of 3 MDs, 1 APRN/RNFA, 1 APRN, and 1 PA, working in a supportive and fast-paced environment.
